If you’re a Zwift aficionado looking to build a dedicated – but budget-friendly – trainer bike setup, the Hood Mounts for Zwift Play are for you. The Hood Mounts for Zwift Play replace standard road bike brake and shift levers and provide an ergonomic position for indoor cycling. Just set up an old bike frame, remove your old brake and shift levers, attach the Hood Mounts for Zwift Play, and strap your Play Controller to the mounts. The Hood Mounts use standard drop bar mounting hardware and rubber grips with a familiar shape.

What you need:

  • Bike frameset with handlebars, crankset, saddle/seatpost and pedals

  • Smart trainer compatible with Zwift Play or Zwift Click

  • Zwift Play Controllers

  • An 8,9,10,11 or 12 speed bike chain

  • Chain tensioner (can be an old rear derailleur or a single speed tensioner)

The Hood Mounts for Zwift Play are part of a more eco-friendly dedicated trainer bike setup. The mounts are 3D printed out of bio plastic and produced on-demand, so there’s no overproduction and less waste. And by reusing an old frame or old bike parts for your trainer bike, you minimize your impact on the environment compared to buying a new dedicated indoor trainer bike.

Our Setup:

In our home, we’ve held onto several old bike frames that were damaged in crashes. And from upgrading components over the years, we’ve accumulated a handful of old chain rings, derailleurs, and other parts. We used these old bike components to create a trainer bike perfect for riding indoors that otherwise wouldn’t be roadworthy.

Use your best judgment. Foothill Products is not responsible for damage or injury caused by using old or damaged bicycle components.
